Venues
Abbey shoot at three different venues through the year. All our venues are wheelchair accessible. Which venue we are using on a given day is listed in our Club Shooting Diary.

Outdoor Venue

Public transport: the 84 bus from St Albans or Potters Bar. The stop is Ridgehill, Packhorse Lane.

The club can shoot at this venue all year around but is generally used from early April to late September. The primary club sessions are Sundays 09:45 until 13:00 (but can be extended) and Tuesdays/Thursday ~18:00-dusk. If visitors would like to shoot with us, or just come along to talk to us, then please send a message to enquiries@abbeybowmen.org to arrange a suitable time.

Please note the following at this venue:

All carbon arrows (e.g. Easton Avance Carbon) cannot be shot. Aluminium/carbon arrows (e.g. Easton ACCs) are allowed.

No crossbows

No smoking or vaping is allowed on site

No alcohol can be brought onto the site

Sessions are held between October to early April at the following times:

The vehicle gate will be open 15 mins before start time and open for the whole session. The two front car parks on Upper Lattimore Rd. will be available. If an overflow option is needed then the car park on Beaconsfield Rd. will be available.

The Gym is also used for beginners' courses and the occasional Sunday session.

To use this venue please bring a change of shoes which are clean. This is a requirement for our use of the hall.
